This online course is an introductory course to Mandarin Chinese intended for staff in the tourism sector.
The course is both online in real time and students also have access to recordings of classes during the seminar.

The number of Chinese tourists traveling to Iceland has increased immensely over the last few years. Misunderstanding due to cultural differences has been noticed in connection with Chinese tourists. Is there a simple and effective way which will improve communication with our guests from China? Can we make this task easier by studying Mandarin Chinese? Learning the Mandarin Chinese language is remarkably fun. Chinese characters are not as difficult as many might consider so this is a fantastic opportunity for those interested.  

Topics covered:

Introduction to Mandarin-Chinese, both spoken and written language. practical sentences in tourism will be taught.
Introduction to Chinese language culture and etiquette.
Chinese communication customs.
